SUMMARY:Inauguration of the commemorative plaque on the Tour St Jacques
DESCRIPTION:On February 1\, 2022 at 11:45 a.m.\, at the invitation of Paris City Hall\, the Tour Saint Jacques will be the venue for the inauguration of the commemorative plaque on the Tour St Jacques\,\nLast but not least\, an event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of our association will take place on our initiative.  This plaque\, installed in 1965 at the foot of the Tour Saint-Jacques\, has been restored by the City of Paris. \nFor the unveiling\, Spanish Ambassador Victorio REDONDO BALDRICK will be joined by Patrice Jacques Marie BERNARD\, President of the Société Française des Amis de St Jacques de Compostelle\, and Madame TAÏEB\, Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of Culture and Heritage. \nPast presidents and all members of the French Society are invited to this event. ■ \nYou’re all invited.  We need to be there in large numbers on that day to show the importance of the Camino de Santiago.   \n\nBelow is the letter from the Mairie de Paris with invitation:\n\n“Madam\, Sir\, \n\nPlease find enclosed the invitation to attend the ceremony to unveil the recently restored plaque commemorating the site of the church of Saint-Jacques de la Boucherie\, from which thousands of pilgrims of all nationalities set out for the tomb of the Apostle Saint James in Compostela in the 10th century\, and which was donated to the City of Paris by Spain on the initiative of the Société des amis de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle. \n  \nTuesday\, February 1\, 2022 at 11:45 a.m. \nSquare de la Tour Saint-Jacques\, 39 rue de Rivoli\, Paris4th district \nMetro: Hôtel de Ville or Châtelet \n  \nWishing you a warm welcome \n This invitation will be requested on site \nWearing a mask is mandatory \nWishing you a warm welcome \nSincerely” \n  \n
