Inauguration of the commemorative plaque on the Tour St Jacques
On February 1, 2022 at 11:45 a.m., at the invitation of Paris City Hall, the Tour Saint Jacques will be the venue for the inauguration of the commemorative plaque on the Tour St Jacques,
Last but not least, an event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of our association will take place on our initiative. This plaque, installed in 1965 at the foot of the Tour Saint-Jacques, has been restored by the City of Paris.
For the unveiling, Spanish Ambassador Victorio REDONDO BALDRICK will be joined by Patrice Jacques Marie BERNARD, President of the Société Française des Amis de St Jacques de Compostelle, and Madame TAÏEB, Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of Culture and Heritage.
Past presidents and all members of the French Society are invited to this event. ■

Please find enclosed the invitation to attend the ceremony to unveil the recently restored plaque commemorating the site of the church of Saint-Jacques de la Boucherie, from which thousands of pilgrims of all nationalities set out for the tomb of the Apostle Saint James in Compostela in the 10th century, and which was donated to the City of Paris by Spain on the initiative of the Société des amis de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle.
