On pilgrimage routes, women are not forgotten. Three pilgrims have followed (or traced) paths honoring female saints:
Cyrille Boland in the footsteps of Mary Magdalene in Provence.
Cyrille Boland is an Orthodox deacon and beekeeper. He is founder and president of the association Chemins des saintes et saints de Provence and author of En Provence sur les traces de Marie-Madeleine (Salvator, 2024).
Sylvie Francotte in the footsteps of Hildegard of Bingen in Germany
Sylvie Francotte (better known as Radio Camino) has walked many of the roads to Santiago de Compostela, sometimes in both directions. She then developed a passion for other initiatory paths, such as the Chemin de Gargantua (from Mont-Sainte-Odile to Mont-Saint-Michel), or the tour of the Black Virgins of France.
Pascale de Barochez on those of Joan of Arc in the Loiret region.
Pascale de Barochez is in charge of the Pastorale du tourisme et des loisirs at the French Bishops’ Conference. She was diocesan delegate for the pastoral care of tourism in the Diocese of Orléans from 2016 to 2023.
They’ll take us down new paths, as inspired as they are inspiring.
At the end of the round table :
Organization :The weekly Le Pèlerin, Compostelle 2000, the French Society of Friends of Santiago de Compostela and Forum104, in partnership with La Procure, the Fédération française de la randonnée pédestre and the Notre-Dame-des-Anges chapel.
