On the Paris-Sens-Vézelay route

Based on an idea byAlbert Echilley and Louis Chevalier, in 2022, to mark its 70th anniversary (postponed by 2 years due to Covid), the SFASJC organized the Paris – Sens – Vezelay as part of its preparatory walks.
This project was carried out in collaboration with theAssociation des Pèlerins de Saint Jacques de Compostelle Saint Fargeau Ponthierry (ADPDSJDC), the dynamic team behind the revival of this Way.
In fact, it was the ADPDSJDC that marked out and maintained the route, looked for accommodation, managed a gîte and created the Paris-Sens-Vézelay guidebook.
The first 7 stages took us from the Tour Saint Jacques to Sens, all on Sundays. With distances becoming too great to make the round trip in a day, 3 weekends were planned to get to Vezelay this year before winter.
There’s still time to register for these 3 weekends.
Registrations must be sent to the SFASJC office:
– by August 13 at the latest for the weekend of August 26/27
– by September 1 at the latest for the weekend of September 10/11
– by October 14 at the latest for the weekend of October 22/23.
For the weekend of August 26/27, those who wish* can join us on Thursday August 25 at 10.30 a.m. at Sens Cathedral for a private tour of the Cathedral in the company of Cathedral specialist Mr Brousse.
To register, contact Louis Chevalier on 06 81 79 15 10 or Michel Orivel on 07 62 92 10 01.
After the visit, lunch in Sens, then Louis Chevalier will guide those present through the Sens museum and other monuments
.
The friends of Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry can welcome people wishing to find pilgrim accommodation in Sens on
Thursday August 25. Louis will be happy to help (06 81 79 15 10).
*August 25 is not under the responsibility of SFASJC or ADPDSJDC.
For those coming only for the weekend, meet at Gare de Lyon at 8.30am and at Sens at 10.13am on August 26th .
And don’t forget to buy your train tickets in advance.
