Société Française des Amis de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle La plus ancienne de toutes les associations jacquaires – depuis 1950

Albert Tosoni-Pittoni passed away last Sunday.

The president, secretary and officers of the association are saddened to announce Albert’s death last Sunday.

Albert held a very important place in the Société Française des Amis de St Jacques de Compostelle. He was one of those who revived the association after Jeannine Warcollier’s departure in 2016. Vice-president for many years, he had a particularly keen eye for everything that went on within the association. In order not to leave it vacant, he recently took over as treasurer. Albert has also long been in charge of the e-mail system, and every other week, he takes on the telephone answering service. He also represented the company at the “Des chemins et des hommes” conference series (….). He called himself the company’s “Swiss Army knife”.

The announcement of his death to the members of the Société’s Board of Directors and to the main contacts in the Jacobean world has already been followed by many expressions of sadness, of course, but also of respect, friendship and admiration for this great man. Charly wrote: ” I consider it a privilege to have crossed his path”.

Albert will leave a great void in the company. He will be sorely missed.

His funeral will take place on Tuesday, March 15 at 10 a.m. at Père Lachaise. For those wishing to accompany him on this last journey, I enclose the death notice sent by his family. To pay tribute to him, the Board has agreed that SFASJC members present will wear the Society’s pin.
