Round table discussion
“Hiking or pilgrimage:why walk in the footsteps of the saints?”

Round-table discussion moderated by Gaële de La Brosse, journalist with the weekly Le Pèlerin.

More and more hikers are choosing to walk on pilgrimage paths, under the protection of saints: Jacques le Majeur, Marie, Michel, Martin, Gilles, François d’Assise, Pierre, Ignace, Colomban, Guilhem, Jean-François Régis, Yves, the seven saints of theTro Breiz and many others.

What motivates them? What distinguishes the hiker from the pilgrim?

Three writers, familiar with different paths, will share their experiences.

  • Xavier Accart, writer and journalist; author of Le Dormant d’Ephèse (Tallandier, 2019) and Tro Breiz, ma Bretagne intérieure (Salvator, 2023).
  • Luc Adrian, writer and journalist; author of Compostelle. Carnet de route d’un pèlerin (Presses de la Renaissance, 2002), Petites prières pèlerines (Mame, 2021) and François d’Assise, le chevalier sans armure (Éditions Emmanuel, 2023).
  • Jean-Pierre Musialowski, retired teacher, long-distance pilgrim; author of Sacré chemin. Un pèlerinage de 25 000 km à pied (self-published, 2022) and 27 émotions sur les chemins de Compostelle et d’ailleurs (self-published, 2023).

At the end of the round table

  • Announcement of the results of the short story competition on the theme of “Beyond Borders”, organized by the Compostelle 2000 association, and presentation of the prizes.
  • Authors’ signing session
  • Organizers’ stands
  • A glass of friendship
