SFASJC 2023 photo competition

The Société française des Amis de St Jacques de Compostelle and the Centre d’Etudes Compostellanes are organizing a photo competition for paid-up members for the current year. The aim of the competition is to share and highlight the pilgrim’s experience of the pilgrimage route through the language of photography.

Three themes take center stage:

1. The path and me (your perception of the path and your environment).
2. Cultural heritage (architecture, monuments, gastronomy, festivals, etc.)
3. Pilgrim’s winks (the unusual, humor, etc.)

Each participant may submit a maximum of 3 photos in all categories (all photos in different categories, or in the same category, at the participant’s discretion).

Participation is free and without age limit. Jury members and their families are excluded.

Photographs must be sent by e-mail to the following address: sfasjc.concoursphoto@gmail.com

Attachments must be in JPG format and between 800KB and 10MB in size. If photos are too large to send by e-mail, they can be sent via WeTransfer or another sharing platform.

Each photo must include: the entrant’s first and last names, and the category for which the photo is submitted. Photos may be accompanied by a caption.

Each participant names his or her photo files as follows: “T1(or T2 / or T3)_Name First name participant_Title of photo.jpg”. For example, for a photo called “Mon chemin” submitted by Pascal Dumont in theme 1: “T1_Dumont Pascal_Mon chemin.jpg”.

To avoid any errors, the members of the jury and the organizing committee are not authorized to name participants’ photos.

An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to each participant by the end of the month in which it was sent at the latest.

Photos must be submitted between March 1, 2023 and September 15, 2023 inclusive. Entries received after this deadline will not be accepted.

A special “Greeting Card” prize will be awarded to the photo selected for publication as the 2024 Greeting Card, with the author’s name mentioned at the bottom of the image.

The jury reserves the right to award one or more additional Special Prizes.

A People’s Choice Award will be presented by a vote of Internet users via the instagram account: https: //www.instagram.com/sfasjc_photo/

The winner will be determined by the number of “likes” from Internet users, whether or not they are SFASJC members. However, in accordance with the competition rules, the photos of participants who are SFASJC members will be published on Instagram.
