A word from the Chairman

Dear friends,

I wish everyone all the best for 2022, for you, your families and of course for our country and Europe.

At our general meeting on November 20, quoting the title of a Léo Ferré song that many of us know, “Les temps sont difficiles” (“Times are difficult”), I was thinking of all our projects to celebrate our 70th anniversary, which could not be carried out because of the pandemic, a totally unreal situation with human and financial consequences that we cannot yet measure.

However, there are some positive signs:

  • Some could walk on the CAMINOS in 2021
  • the XIIth European Congress of Santiago de Compostela Associations in Madrid provided an opportunity for promising contacts for the future of the world of Santiago de Compostela – a project to bring the world of Santiago de Compostela closer together in Europe, which we’ll be talking about later.

Finally, a project planned for our 70th anniversary will take place on our initiative.

On February 1, 2022 at 11:45 a.m., at the invitation of Paris City Hall, the new Spanish Ambassador Victorio REDONDO BALDRICH will unveil the renovated plaque affixed by SFASJC on June 13, 1965, at the Tour Saint Jacques.

We need to be there in large numbers on that day to show the importance of the Camino de Santiago.

Thanks to all

Be assured of my devotion and my best regards

Patrice Jacques Marie BERNARD
