In Japan, there is a Buddhist pilgrimage as famous as the Camino de Compostela in Europe. It links 88 sacred sites on the island of Shikoku in a loop, covering almost 1,200 kilometers. It follows in the footsteps of the monk Kôbô Daishi, founder of Shingon Buddhism. Sophie Lavaur undertook this pilgrimage alone, in 50 days. She will recount her peregrination and bear witness to her inner adventure, before taking questions from web surfers.
Sophie Lavaur has worked as a communications director for a number of international companies. Today, she works as a communications coach and consultant, supporting managers who wish to take a fresh look at their practices.
She is also a photographer (www.sophielavaur-photo.com) and runs a Facebook page dedicated to the Shikoku pilgrimage. She is the author of “Le Pèlerinage de Shikoku, en images et en mots” (Éditions Sully).
