February 1, unveiling ceremony of the renovated plaque in front of the St Jacques tower
Over the past 3 years, SFASJC, in conjunction with the Spanish Embassy, has undertaken to renovate the plaque celebrating the CAMINO, which was installed in 1965 on the Rue de Rivoli side of the street. The plaque commemorates the site of the church of Saint Jacques de la Boucherie, from which thousands of pilgrims of all nationalities set out for the tomb of the apostle Saint Jacques in Compostela in the 10th century.
On Tuesday February 1, 2022, in the presence of Paris City Hall deputies Karen TAÏEB, Arnaud NGATCHA, Laurence PATRICE and Christophe NAJDOVSKI, Ariel WEIL, Mayor of Paris Centre, and His Excellency Victorio REDONDO BALDRICH, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to France, the renovated plaque was unveiled.
Many of you attended this beautiful ceremony, including members of our association, pilgrims and representatives of friendly pilgrimage associations.
Thanks to all
